Three held for cheating students

Kanpur, June 2 (UNI) Three people, including the director and manager of an institute, were arrested for cheating students here today, a police said.

Rajiv Singh was running a coaching institute at Govind Nagar area. He had taken Rs 25,000 each as training fee from 500 odd students and promised them jobs after six months training, SSP AK Singh said.

However, not even a single student was facilitated with a job, over which they went on rampage and resorted to stone-pelting, besides vandalising office property, SSP added.

The students had been agitating against the same for the last three days.

Meanwhile, a few students met the local administration officials and lodged complaint against the institute director and three others.

Police held the institute Director Rajiv Singh, Manager Prem Kumar Dixit and one other and lodged FIR against four persons.
