New Delhi, Jun 2 (UNI) The Ministry of Urban Development provided an outlay of Rs 1204 crore for the year 2007-08 under Urban infrastructure Development Scheme for small and Medium Towns (UIDSSMT).
A number of proposals for release of Additional Central Assistance (ACA) against the allocation were received from state governments of Rajasthan, Karnataka, Manipur, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chattisgarh, Punjab, Maharashtra, Kerala and West Bengal.
A sum of about Rs 532 crore has already been released during March this year. The entire allocation of Rs 1204 crore provided during 2007-08 under UIDSSMT Scheme has been utilised.
So far, 57 towns have utilised more than 70 per cent of the ACA released under the Scheme. State Governments have submitted utilisation certificates for 47 towns for availing subsequent installments of ACA which are under process, a release from the Ministry said.
