Nabard holds meeting of nodal officers on Debt Waiver Scheme
Mumbai, June 2 (UNI) The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) today held a conference of Nodal Officers to clarify issues concerning the Debt Waiver and Debt Relief Scheme, to enable the scheme to be implemented before June 30 and help eligible farmers get fresh loans.
NABARD has appointed its Executive Director S K Mitra as the nodal officer to oversee the implementation of the scheme. The Conference was addressed by NABARD Chairman U C Sarangi and other senior officers.
NABARD would also hold a meeting of the MDs/CEOs of State Cooperative Banks on June four here, to discuss the Scheme in detail, clarify the issues concerning successful implementation of the Scheme and to draw a time bound action plan to implement the same.
NABARD had also set up a control room at its head office to oversee the implementation of the Scheme, on a day-to-day basis and give feedback to the Union Government accordingly.
