Kerala HC declines to stay order on single window system
Kochi, June 2 (UNI) A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court today declined to stay the operation of the judgement of a single judge, showing the green signal to the single window system for admissions to higher secondary classes this year.
The single judge had last week dismissed a plea to stay the order, implementing the system. The archdiocese of Changanassery, Idukki and Cochin had filed writ appeals against the interim order.
The Division Bench, comprising Mr Justices J B Koshy and P N Raveendaran, however, directed the State Government to file a statement regarding the functioning of the system by June five.
The archdiocese had challenged the single window system, contending that it was violative of the minority communities' rights to run their educational institutions.
