Harangi received 12 cm rain

Bangalore, Jun 2 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours today.

Southwest monsoon has further advanced into remaining parts of South Interior Karnataka, thus covers entire Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka. Conditions are favourable for further advancement over North Interior Karnataka during next 2 to 3 days.

Monsoon was vigorous over South Interior Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at many places over Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka.

Heavy rainfall amounts (cm): Harangi 12, Subramanya, K.R.Sagara 10 each, Mulki, Srirangapatna, Y.N.Hoskote 9 each. Napoklu, K.R.Nagara 7 each.

Other chief amounts of rainfall (cm): Periyapatna, K.R.Pet 6 each, C.R.Patna 5, Mangalore, Mundargi. Sravanabelgola, Bangalore City 4 each, Mudibidre ,Sulya, Bijapur, Almatti, Kunigal, Mysore, Mandya, Kolar, Bangalore Airport 3 each; Bajpe, Dharwad, Shiggaon, Chittapur, Bhagamandala, Madikeri, Kushalnagar, Arkalgud, Arsikere, Channapatna, Hoskote, Kampli, Sandur, C.N.Halli 2 each.

Maximum temperatures rose at a few places and above normal at a few places over North Interior Karnataka.

Raichur recorded the highest maximum temperature of 40.6 degree Celsius over the State.

Forecast valid until Wednesday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at many places over the State.

Fisheries warning: Strong offshore winds from westerly to southwesterly direction speed occasionally reaching 45-55 kmph likely along off Karnataka coast during next 48 hours.

Forecast for Bangalore city: Generally cloudy.
