Female elephant found dead near Sugarcane field
Mysore, Jun 2(UNI) A 35-year-old female elephant was found dead near sugarcane farm owned by a private landlord in Metikuppa forest range in H D Kote taluk in the district today.
Forest officials here said that the female elephant which was found dead at Metikuppa forest area had suffered bulled injuries in its forehead and might have been fired from the close range and killed it by the miscreants.
H D Kote forest officer Radhakrishna visited the spot and the body of the dead elephant was sent for postmortem at Metikuppa forest range veterinary hospital.
A Case has been registered under wildlife animals act, the sources added.
