Crude bomb found on May 31 was Terrorist activity: Gafoor
Mumbai, June 2 (UNI) City Police Commissioner Hassan Gafoor today said a crude bomb that was found on May 31, in a theatre at Navi Mumbai was a 'Terrorist' activity.
Speaking to mediapersons in a function organised by Crime Reporter Association here, Mr Gafoor said, ''It is a terrorist activity, there is no doubt it.'' Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) of city police have already been put into the service. Navi Mumbai police has started investigating the matter along with the ATS team.
Notably, a crude bomb was found in Vishnu Das Bhave theatre, where a Marathi Drama 'Aamee Pachpute' was enacted, on May 31 night.
Atleast 300 people were in the theatre.
A person among the audience raised an alarm after he saw an unattended plastic bag kept under a seat.
Bomb disposal squad was called, who defused the crude bomb.
The theatre, was near Dr D Y Patil stadium, where the IPL final between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals was played yesterday.
