Court adjourns hearing till July seven

Mumbai, Jun 2 (UNI) The Bombay High Court today adjourned till July seven, the hearing in a dispute between Ambani brothers -- Mukesh and Anil, over lease of land for hangar at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA).

Cyrus Bharucha, Counsel for the Reliance Transport and Travels Limited (RTTL), owned by Anil Ambani, the petitioner, today sought time to inspect documents regarding the lease between Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and Airport Authority of India (AAI).

Justice A P Deshpande granted the permission and adjourned the matter till July seven.

During last hearing, a division bench of Bombay High Court had permitted AAI to lease the hangar to RIL, subjected to final outcome of the suit before Justice Deshpande. The bench also said RIL can neither create any third party rights in the hangar, nor can it hand it over to a third party.

AAI had allotted the plot to RTTL in 2000, when it was a subsidiary of RIL, and the demerger of Reliance was yet to happen.

Following the demerger of Reliance, while the flagship RIL went to Mukesh Ambani, RTTL went to Anil Ambani. Therefore, the court will now decide as to who is entitled to get lease of the allotted land.
