CM launches subsidy scheme on food commodities

Panaji, Jun 2 (UNI) Chief Minister Digamber Kamat here today launched a new scheme of the state government, aimed to control the price rise of food commodities.

Under the programme, the consumers can get two kg of tur dal, white peas, green gram, flour, two litres of palmolein oil and 10 coconuts per month, from the counters of Goa Bagayatdar Co-operative Society, on production of their ration cards.

Speaking after launching the scheme, the chief minister said this exercise of the state government will provide relief to the common man from the rising inflation, as the essential commodities will be made avaiable to them at subsidised rates.

Six mobile vans have been pressed into service, to make the commodities available at the centers, the chief minister said.
