accident kills 6 in Chhattisgarh
Kanker, Chhattisgarh, Jun 2 (UNI) Six people of a marriage party were killed -- four on the spot -- and 40 were injured, eight of them critically, after their Matador overturned on the Kanker-Narharpur road near this district's Umroda village, police said.
Two people succumbed while being rushed to the hospital last afternoon. The vehicle was heading for Chanar village from Bahnapali village. The bridegroom was also hurt. The deceased were identified as the groom's father Chainuram (45), Pankibai, Sundari, Bameshwari, Rakesh and Patiram.
The severely-injured were being brought here while the rest were hospitalised at Narharpur.
