TTD to seek SPF cover at Balaji temple

Tirupati, Jun 1 (UNI) Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Chairman B Karunakara Reddy today said the Board would urge the Andhra Pradesh Government to deploy Special Protection Force (SPF) at the Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala to heighten the security.

Addressing a press conference here, he said the Board's decision to seek the help of the SPF was not intended to hurt the Hindu sentiments.

In a recent press conference, the TTD employees had opposed the proposal stating that it would create more problems and suggested that the administration fill up 450 security guard posts at the temple, for which the government had already granted permission, and recruit ex-servicemen to strengthen the security.
