UP govt trying to crush democratic protests: BJP

Lucknow, May 31 (UNI) Reiterating its charges against the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) government in Uttar Pradesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today alleged that the former was trying to suppress democractic agitation through beton-charging and firing.

''Due to political reasons, the Soro tehsil dispute is emerging in Etah district,'' BJP state media in charge Narendra Singh Rana said.

It was ''administrative terror'' that MLA and senior party leaders were stopped to visit the tehsil and take stock of the situation, he added.

The state government wants to suppress the voice of commanman and other party workers through this attitude, Mr Rana alleged.

''The party will not keep quiet on this tyrannical behaviour,'' the BJP leader added.
