One gets life in murder case

Patna, May 31 (UNI) A sessions court here today handed down life imprisonment to a person in a murder case.

The court also slapped a fine of Rs 2,000 against the convict.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Virendra Mohan Srivastav found the accused Imran alias Mister, a native of Samanpura locality under Shastrinagar police station of Patna, guilty under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and Arms Act.

According to the charges, the victim, Satish Kumar Singh, a shopkeeper of Rajabazar locality under Shastarinagar police station, was shot dead by the convict when he refused to pay the extortion money on November 13, 2004.
