Lovers commit suicide in Jammu

Jammu, May 31 (UNI) A teenaged Kashmiri migrant girl today committed suicide when her lover died after consuming poison at Nagrota, about 14 km from here, in Jammu and Kashmir.

The girl, identified as Basanti Pandita(19), allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at her residence in migrant camp Nagrota today, police sources said.

''She took the extreme step after she learnt that her lover Kaka Mehra(28), resident of Nagrota had committed suicide,'' an official source said.

Kaka Mehra, an auto-rickshaw driver and father of three children, was brought to the government medical college and hospital, Jammu, in an unconscious state last night where he died this morning, the sources said.

He was having an affair with the girl for quite sometime, the sources added.
