IIT Kanpur signs MoU with Singapore varsity
Kanpur, May 31 (UNI) To trigger and promote joint research and development activitese of mutual interest, the Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur (IIT-K) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National University of Singapore.
IIT-K director Sanjay Govind Dhande and Prof Shih Choon Fong, president of National University of Singapore, signatured the MoU at a brief function.
Mr Dhande said that both the Institutes would play a pivotal role in creating the regional clusters of academic research groups and cater to the need of the institutes as-well-as the individuals in offering excellent research platforms duly customising the need for the regional groups across the globe.
Whereas, Prof Fong described the agreement, as a milestone in the field of education.
The MoU aims to exchange scientific, academic and technical information and appropriate academic materials and other information of mutual interest, for which each party holds intellectual property rights.
Besides, identification of opportunities for the commercialisation of technology and the organisation of and participation in joint academic and scientific activities such as degrees, seminars and conferences.
