CPI warns UPA over price hike
Vijayawada, May 31 (UNI) Communist Party of India (CPI) national secretary D Raja today warned the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Centre that it would have to pay a heavy political price and face serious consequences if it failed to control the prices of essential commodities.
Addressing a public meeting here, he alleged that the UPA government was not bothered about common man. Union Finance Minister P Chidamabaram was worried over GDP growth, he added.
Mr Raja said the CPI, along with other Left parties, would launch an all-India agitation on June 6 to mount pressure on the Centre to control the spiralling prices.
