Youth arrested from Indo-Nepal border for possessing explosives
Siliguri, May 30 (UNI) Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) arrested a youth at Panitanki on Indo-Nepal border last night for allegedly possessing RDX.
SSB DIG Harish Chandra Pandey of Ranidanga sector today confirmed that the youth was carrying explosives, but whether or not it was RDX would only be confirmed by Army explosives experts.
The SSB has identified the youth as a 21-year-old Abbas Ali and said the arrest was made at Ramgang, under Islampur police station in North Dinajpur district.
'Further interrogation will confirm the person's motive and whether he is linked to any outfit', he said.
After confirmation of the explosive device, the youth will be handed over to the police, Mr Pandey added.
Meanwhile, Additional SP, Siliguri, Rajesh Kumar Jadav said they have received word regarding the arrest, but no one has yet been handed over to them.
