Well known Sangeet drama artiste passes away
Kolhapur, May 30 (UNI) Renowned Sangeet-drama artiste Kanhopatra Kineekar passed away at a private hospital here today following a massive cardiac arrest.
She was 75 and unmarried.
Kanhopatra was admitted to the hospital four days ago due to ill health, where she suffered a massive heart attack this afternoon.
Born in 1933, Kanhopatra started her career by playing a role of Latika in Sangeet-drama 'Saunsaya Kalhol'.
After the success of the play, she performed lead roles in many plays like 'Manaapman', 'Sangeet Saubhadra', 'Ekach Pyala', 'Bedhundhshahee' and 'Swayamwar'.
She was the recipient of many awards including Bal Gandharv, Natakar Mama Varekar of the Maharashtra government.
