Police fired on Gujjar agitators in UP; one killed
Ferozabad, May 30 (UNI) One person was killed and three sustained serious injuries after police opened fire on Gujjar agitators in Uttar Pradesh, who resorted to violence for ST status here today.
The agitators uprooted about half kilometres of railway track affecting the rail traffic for several hours, the police said.
In order to disperse the mob, the police cane-charged them' but they resorted to brickbatting, injuring many policemen.
Later, the police fired on the protesters in which one was killed and three seriously wounded.
The injured had been sent to Agra Hospital.
