MES Worker's Union protest 6th Pay Commission report
Ambala, May 30 (UNI) On the call given by All India Defence Employees Federation (AIDEF), MES Worker's Union (Area Committee) Ambala staged a day-long dharna against the recommendation of the Sixth Pay Commission at the Commander Works Engineer (Army) office Ambala Cantonment today.
In a memorandum submitted to the Commander, the Military Engineer Services (MES) Worker's Union criticised the Central government's ''discriminatory policy'' on the Sixth Pay Commission, saying that it had not given benefit to the Army and MES personnel.
The 18 point charter of demands included, opposition to corporatisation of Army ammunition installations, direct recruitment from the Army to security agencies, continuation of Group D through contract system, transfer of group D employees to Group C, four times increase in risk allowance and patient care allowance.
