K'taka Govt appoints Uday Holla as Advocate General
Bangalore, May 30 (UNI) The BJP government in Karnataka, headed by B S Yeddyurappa, today appointed senior counsel Uday Holla as the new Advocate General of the state.
Speaking to mediapersons after the customary first meeting of the new Cabinet, he said the Cabinet had decided to appoint Mr Holla as the new Advocate General of the state.
Mr Holla was the state Advocate General during the previous H D Kumaraswamy-led JD(S)-BJP coalition government.
Mr Yeddyurappa said on the opening day of the new Assembly session, K G Bopaiah, the BJP Legislator elected from Kodagu, would administer oath to all the new Legislators. On the following day, the Assembly would elect the new Speaker and later the government would seek a vote of confidence, he added.
He said the new government would stand by its commitments made in its election manifesto 'Sankalpa' and strive hard to implement it in a phased manner during its five-year term.
