India Post ties up with Dupont for developing protective envelope

New Delhi, May 30 (UNI) India Post today said it has partnered with DuPont to develop its maiden customised protective envelope for Speed Post and Insured Post.

''India Post expects this to enhance growth for the Speed Post business, which currently deals with 1.7 crore consignments per month and has grown by about 30 per cent last year,'' India Post General Manager (Business Development) John Samuel told reporters here.

With the introduction of the new product, the customers will find it convenient to send documents and letters through Speed Post, he added.

DuPont India President and CEO Balvinder Kalsi said, ''this partnership with India Post is a testimony to DuPont mission of offering science-based solutions that make lives better, safer and healthier.'' The envelopes, in the first phase, will be available only through retail at the post offices. In the second phase, DuPont will offer customised Tyvek envelopes to India Post for its corporate customers.

The DuPont Tyvek speed post envelopes of A5 size will be sold at a price of Rs five per envelope and will be available from any of the 290 Speed Post Centres in the national network, and across the 1,000-plus Speed Post Centres in the state network.

Tyvek envelopes are made from DuPont Tyvek protective material, a material so strong and durable, it easily withstands the most grueling of conditions.

DuPont Tyvek envelopes are used world over by postal authorities, including the US Postal Service, French La Post as well as leading courier companies like FedEx.

Founded in 1802, DuPont, which operates in more than 70 countries, offers a wide range of innovative products and services for markets including agriculture and food; building and construction; communications; and transportation.
