Homeopathy doctors under RGU to get official status

Itanagar, May 30 (UNI) Homeopathy doctors from Arunachal Pradesh, completing their degrees under the Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) here, will soon be getting the official status, with the Centre's decision to issue a formal notification shortly.

Informing this to the Lok Sabha, MP Kiren Rijiju, Union Health and Family Welfare Secretary Anita Das said the department had received recommendations of Central Council of Homeopathy for the inclusion of BHMS under the RGU, in the second schedule of the HCC Act, 1973.

In this direction, a draft notification has already been made for approval and the issuance of formal notification is expected shortly,'' she added.

Welcoming the decision of the union ministry, Mr Rijiju said it would provide respite to a number of qualified homeopathy doctors, who were not being recognised despite deserving one and thanked the ministry concerned for its efforts in giving recognition to those qualifying doctors, the sources added.
