Haryana Sahitya Akademi seeks entries for awards, grants

Chandigarh, May 30 (UNI) The Haryana Sahitya Akademi has invited applications/entries from Haryana domicile writers/literary organisations of Haryana under Awards and Grant-in-aid schemes.

Stating this here today, a spokesman of the Akademi said under the awards scheme litterateurs of Hindi and Haryanavi literature were honoured with Haryana Sahitya Ratna Samman, Mahakavi Surdas Samman, Babu Bal Mukund Gupt Samman(Hindi Literature), Babu Bal Mukund Gupt Samman (Literary Journalism), Pt Lakhmi Chand Samman, Haryana Gaurava Samman, besides giving awards of prizes to Hindi, Haryanavi books published in the year 2007-08 and original unpublished, unbroadcasted Hindi short stories.

Similarly, under grant-in-aid scheme, grant was provided for publication of unpublished manuscripts, theses on art, culture, history of Haryana, for purchase of books of Haryana domocile writers and holding literary functions etc., he added.

He said that application/entries should reach to the Akademi by July 31, 2008.
