Flt Lt Anubhav's father demands probe by central agency

Hisar, May 30 (UNI) Father of Flt Lt Anubhav Rao, who was allegedly killed by a lawyer following a road rage in April near Kasauli in Himachal Pradesh, has demanded probe by central agency into the investigation of the murder.

The Deceased's father, Dr Ram Kumar Yadav, a senior scientist of Haryana Agricultural University here said that the accused being a local lawyer could influence the probe to his benefit.

"The direction of the investigation seems to have actually been influenced as the weapon which the accused had handed over to police seems to be different than the weapon used for the crime as per the witnesses, one of whom was injured in the incident." Alleging that the local bar was in favour of their accused colleague and was influencing the investigations, Dr Yadav said, "None of the lawyers was ready to take up the case from our side as the accused is their bar colleague." Flt Lt Anubhav Rao, a fighter Pilot of Indian Air Force was on way to hill resort of Kasauli last month when he had a altercation with a local lawyer regarding overtaking. The lawyer later, overtook him and allegedly attacked him with a sharp edge weapon. The Flt Lt later died due to excessive bleeding.

His father has expressed apprehension that if the accused, whose bail plea will come up tomorrow, gets a bail, "due to flaws in the investigations he will further influence the investigations and even the FSL reports." He said that to avoid localism, the investigations should be got done by a Central Agency.

He demanded that the accused should again be taken on police remand and more scientific methods of investigations be used to find the weapon used in the crime.

"We have sent our representation to the President of India with a copy to Supreme Court, the PM of India, the Defence Minister, Home Minister, the Chief of Air Staff, Chief Minister of HP, The Director General of Police Himachal Pradesh and the Superintendent of Police, Solan (HP)," he said.
