Five-member gang of dacoits arrested

Baramati, Maharashtra, May 30 (UNI) A five-member gang of dacoits was arrested by Pune Rural Police here and sharp weapons, cash and gold ornaments were seized from them.

The gang members were apprehended yesterday. They were involved in a series of dacoities in various parts of Pune and Satara districts.

Baramati Police had received information about the gang and began monitoring the activities of some gang members, Pune Rural Police told UNI today.

Police said one Dhananjay Barge, an employee of a private company in Pune and resident of Phaltan in Satara district, was robbed of some gold and cash before being kidnapped by the gang members on May 11. The loot was recovered yesterday, they added.
