TTD opposes deploying of SPF in temple town

Tirupati, May 29 (UNI) The TTD board meeting held yesterday had decided to oppose the decision of deploying Special Protection Force (SPF) in Tirumala.

Addressing a joint press conference here, the TTD union leaders C Vijaya Kumar, Mohan Reddy and Chengal Reddy had alleged that more problems would be raised if SPF was deployed for strengthening the security at Tirumala hills.

Instead of deploying SPF, the TTD authorities should fill up the vacant 450 security guard posts, for which the Government had already given permission, they said.

They also urged the management to recruit ex-servicemen in Tirumala.
