Truck driver booked for raping minor SC girl

Moga, May 29 (UNI) Police today booked a case against a truck driver for allegedly committing rape upon a minor scheduled caste girl living in the neighbourhood.

Baghapurana police got the 13-year-old girl medically examined last evening from local civil hospital and a case against the accused identified as Tara Singh, was registered under section 376 IPC.

No arrest have yet made as the alleged accused was absconding.

According to Baghapura police sources, the father of the the victim had complained that his daughter was asked by his neighbour Tara Singh to get a packet of cigarettes from the nearby shop and when she returned, he took her inside his house and committed the crime.

Some passersby who heard her cries, raised an alarm, after which the accused managed to escape.
