Silver, gold opens high on bullish advice

Mumbai, May 29: Values of spot silver and gold today resumed high at Rs 24,335 per kg and pure gold at Rs 12,475 per ten gm respectively, on reduced offers by stockists in view of bullish advises from global markets, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association (BBA) said.

Both precious metals as silver (999 finesses grade) today hiked by Rs 165 per kg, while standard mint gold and pure gold gained by Rs 20 per ten gm and Rs 15 respectively, from their last finish on some improved demand from local jewellery makers.

In London and Asian markets, gold was quoted high in a range of USD 897.70/898.20 per troy ounce against 885.70/887.50 on previous day and silver touched a high at USD 17.40/17.42 per troy ounce compared to 17.05/17.12 per troy ounce from their last finish, which helped to upward trend at the domestic prices, traders added.

Following were the opening spot rates: Silver (per kg) 999 fineness grade: Rs 24,335 Gold (per 10 gm): 99.5 purity standard mint: Rs 12,425 99.9 purity pure gold: Rs 12,475.
