At least 25 people feared drowned in K'taka
Hassan, Karnataka, May 29 (UNI) At least 25 people, including women and children, were feared drowned when a lorry carrying 50 members of a marriage party fell into a tank on the outskirts of Agrahara village near Konanur town in this district this afternoon.
Police said the lorry skidded off the tank bund road and plunged into the tank, killing at least half of those who were travelling in it.
The victims, who met their watery grave, were travelling in the lorry to partake food, which was arranged some distance away from where the marriage ceremoney was held.
Senior police and district officials have rushed to the spot and are supervising the rescue operations.
Services from the Fire brigade have been sought from this city.
