Amritsar bundled at 122 in 62.4 overs

Patiala, May 29 (UNI) Patiala are firmly placed against Amritsar in the crucial semi-final match of the Punjab Inter-District cricket tournament (Under-16) for ML Markan Trophy on the opening day of the two-day tie here today at the Dhruv Pandove Cricket Stadium.

Amritsar won the toss and batting first, were bundled out for a meagre 122 in 62.4 overs on a perfect batting wicket.

Mohit Handa (43) was the only Amritsar batsman who played with great responsibility. But for Karan Sharma (22), the rest of the batsmen fell cheaply to some hostile and penetrative bowling.

For Patiala, Gauravpreet bowled a nagging length to capture five for 26, he was well supported by Sandeep Sharma, who bagged two wickets, conceding 31 runs.

In reply, Patiala, were 82 for the loss of three wickets at draw of stumps. Gauravpreet (28) and Shivan Goyal (17) were the main run getters. At close, Manpreet (23) and Sandeep Sharma, who is yet to open his account, were at the crease.

For Amritsar, Kamal Passi, Navneet and A Mattoo captured a wicket each.
