26 injured as lightning strucks dargah complex
Hoshiarpur, May 29 (UNI) As many as 26 persons, including two children, were injured when lightning struck at Dargah Peer Khawaja at Ajmera village in Hajipur block in the district his afternoon.
Hoshiarpur SSP Dr Sukhchain Singh Gill said that a congregation and Langar (free food) were going-on at the Dargah when the lightning suddenly struck at about 1530 hrs.
All the injured became unconscious and were shifted to Civil Hospital, Hajipur. Teams of doctors from Civil Hospitals, Dasuya and Mukerian reached there to provide medical treatment to them. The patients were complaining pain and cold.
The villagers stated that the entire village thundered due to the shock waves caused by the lightning.
