TNCC chief plea on high fee in pvt colleges

Chennai, May 28 (UNI) TNCC President M Krishnasamy today urged the Tamil Nadu Government to take stern action against self-financing professional colleges which collected exorbitant fees from students.

Welcoming the DMK Government's decision to distribute free bus pass to school students from the schools, he said the government, while paying special attention to education, should look into the fee structure of some of the self-financing colleges.

These private colleges, especially, those granted deemed university or university status, were collecting exorbitant fee, posing problems for students and parents.

Despite repeated warnings from the government, these educational institutions continued to collect high fees and commercialised education, the Congress alleged.
