Clouds, winds maintain coolness in Delhi, mercury at 36.2 Deg C
New Delhi, May 28 (UNI) After a dry and Sunny weather yesterday, a cloudy sky and thunderstorm activity today maintained coolness in the air in Delhi with the mercury dropping to 36.2 degrees Celsius.
After bright Sunlight and dry conditions in the morning, clouds hovered over the city skyline towards afternoon. This, coupled with strong thunderstorms, brought down the maximum temperature, from 36.6 degrees Celsius yesterday, to 36.2 degrees C, five degrees below normal.
The minimum was also recorded five degrees below normal at 23.5 degrees Celsius.
The coolness in the air is likely to persist till the weekend with the weatherman forecasting more thundershower activity in Delhi and other parts of Northwest India in the next two to three days.
''The current meteorological analysis suggests isolated thundershowers activity over Northwest India during the next 3-4 days,''the IMD said.
Infact, the thunderstorm activity is likely to continue into the weekend.
The Met office have forecast a partly cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with thundershowers in some areas.
With the weather remaining cool, it was a comfortable day in Delhi as far as power situation is concerned.
