Centre permits establishment of JSS University

Mysore, May 28 (UNI) The Union Human Resources Ministry has accorded permission for establishment of J S S University in Karnataka.

J S S Executive Secretary B N Betkerur, in a release here today, said that the University Grants Commission (UGC) had recommended to the Union Ministry in this regard and it was approved.

Various institutions run by the J S S including its Medical College, Dental Colleges Pharmacy College in Mysore and Ooty would come under the J S S University which would start functioning from 2008-09 academic year.

J S S Mahavidhya Peetha, one of the premier institution in the state, runs more than 300 educational institutions.
