Nagaland: 1 shot dead in Dimapur

Kohima, May 28: Unidentified gunmen shot dead a person at the Residency Colony of Dimapur town last night.

Official sources today said that the unidentified victim, was a non-local and had a gun shot wound on his head. At that time of the incident, there was a power failure in the locality and the people of the colony, on hearing the gunshot informed the police.

The police, on arrival, recovered the victim's body, sources said. The body had been sent autopsy to the Dimapur Civil Hospital.

This would be the second killing in three days in the locality and the police suspect that both the killings might be linked to extortion.

However, further police investigations will alone ascertain the motive behind the killings and help apprehend the killers, sources added.
