President visits beauteous Gulmarg in Kashmir

Gulmarg, May 25 (UNI) Pristine glory and scenic beauty of Kashmir which has captivated the hearts of so many rulers and heads of states, is now fascinating President Pratibha Devisingh Patil.

Ms Patil said Jammu and Kashmir is known for its beauty and hospitality not only in the country but across the globe.

''Crystal clear water of cascading streams flowing from mountains captivates one's inner self", the President said during her visit to Gulmarg.

She said scenic beauty of Kashmir is praiseworthy for its huge mountains and beautiful peaks with tall trees ''as if they are guarding us.'' The President said the people of the State deserved special appreciation for upholding secular ethos and showing hospitality to visiters from various parts of the world.

Ms Patil said,''Both the State and Centre government are making serious efforts to expedite the development of the State so that everyone can get a job and prosperity come to the State.'' She expressed the hope that the tourist influx to the State picks up and economy gets stabilised.''But for that creation of tourist related infrastructure is necessary,'' she added.
