BJP to stake claim to form govt in Karnataka tomorrow
Bangalore, May 25 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party, under the leadership of former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, will call on Karnataka Governor Rameswar Thakur tomorrow and stake its claim to form a new government in the state.
Disclosing this to newsmen at the party office here a beaming Yeddyurappa said the legislature party would meet in the afternoon to elect him as the leader formally. After this, the legislators would meet the Governor to stake the claim, he added.
Terming the party's victory as ''historic'', Mr Yeddyurappa said the party's national leaders had already been consulted and discussions held with regard to support from Independents to form the government.
He thanked the people for supporting the party in the elections.
