BJP in Karnataka inching towards simple majority

Bangalore, May 25 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party is inching towards gaining a simple majority in Karnataka Assembly winning eight of the ten results delcared so far and leading in 102 of the 224 seats for which counting began smoothly today.

The Congress had won from two constituencies and leading in 69 constituencies, followed by the Janata Dal (Secular) which opened its account through former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy's thumping victory in Ramanagaram by a margin of over 47, 260 votes over his nearest BJP Rival M Rudresh. The party was leading in 30 other constituencies. Others were leading in 10 constituencies.
