ULFA cadre killed, two MULTA rebels held in Assam
Guwahati, May 24 (UNI) An ULFA militant was killed in Assam's Tinsukia district today, while two cadres of MULTA were arrested from Sonitpur district last night.
In an encounter at Dirak Kurkarnichowk under Kakopathar police station in Tinsukia district, six J&K Rifles gunned down ULFA cadre Phulton Moran alias Phulen Chetia. One AK 56 was also recoevered from him.
Meanwhile, 46 Assam Rifles of the Chindit Brigade of the Army's Red Horn Division arrested the two MULTA rebels, about 30 km from the headquarter town of Tezpur in Thenbanga Chapori late last night.
Two pistols and seven cartridges were recovered from the arrested militants.
