Two trains stranded in Rajasthan Gujjar agitation

Jaipur, May 24 (UNI) At least two trains were stranded at different points due to obstructions created on the rail route by agitating Gujjars in Rajasthan.

In view of the ongoing Gujjars' 'Rail Roko' agitation, the Railway authorities were also forced to cancel the service of Udaipur-bound 2963 Nizamuddin-Udaipur Mewar Express and diverted several other long distance trains on alternative routes, a North Western Railway spokesman said here today.

Jodhpur-bound 4863 Banaras-Jodhpur Marudhar Express was stranded at Bandikui railway station since 1150 hrs due to obstructions created by Gujjar protestors on railway tracks between Bandikui and Arnia stations.

Likewise, 4322 Newbhuj-Bareilly Express was stranded at Arnia station since 1157 hrs due to obstructions on the tracks.

Nizamuddin-bound 2964 Nizamuddin-Udaipur Mewar Express, 2315 Sealdah-Udaipur Express, 2472 Jammu Tawi-Bandra Express, 8631 Ranchi-Ajmer Express and 0906 Jammu Tawi-Bandra Terminus Express were diverted on alternative routes.
