Ten killed, five injured in two mishaps
Rajahmundry, May 24 (UNI) Ten people were killed and and five others injured in two seperate accidents involving a sumo van in Andhra Pradesh today.
According to police, five people, including two children belonging to a family, were killed on the spot when they were on their way to Tirumala to have a darshan of Lord Venkateswara early today. The sumo van in which they were travelling, collided with an Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation(APSRTC) bus at Pellakuru Mandal in Nellore district. The occupants of the van haile of hailed from Krishna district.

In another mishap, five people, including a woman and a 11 year-old girl were killed and as many number injured, when a Sumo van in which they were travelling, hit a stationary lorry from behind at Gandapalli village in East Godavari district.
Police sources told UNI that the mishap occurred when the van was on its way to the temple town of Annavaram from Kondapalli in Krishna district. While four of the 14 occupants died on the spot, another succumbed to injuries on way to hospital.
The injured were admitted to Government General hospital at Rajahmundry town.
