Sarkozy syndrome: Marry late for young wife
Sydney, May 24 (UNI) If you wonder why Kareena Kapoor left Shahid for Saif or how was Sarkozy able to woo much younger Carla Bruni into tying a knot ? The answer could be found from new scientific research that states that a man -- whether he is wealthy and educated or not-- marrying after forty chooses a significantly younger bride for himself.
Contrary to the older belief that the assets of fame, power and big bucks tend to make up for the debits of time -- grey hair, paunches and assorted wrinkles; the study claimed the poor guys marry down in age just as much as the rich guys do.
According to co-author of the study, Paula England, men in their 40s tend to marry women who average seven years younger, men in their 50s have brides who average 11 years younger, while men in the 60s tend to marry women who are 13 years younger.
The findings stated that the male ideal of beauty is found in women in their early 20s, and that ideal remains fixed for men no matter that they themselves are growing older, the Daily Telegraph reported.
