Rachita and Raghavendra given top billing in AITA tennis

Bangalore, May 24 (UNI) Rachita Sarda and S Raghavendra (both from Karnataka) have been given top billing in the 22nd All India Ranking Tennis tournament hosted by Sadashivanagar Club for Girls and Boys Under-16, respectively.

In Under-14, A Kashyap and Preethi Ujjini also from host State were top seeded in the tournament main draw of which begins from May 26. The Qualifying round, which has attracted 83 players from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, New Delhi, Maharashtra besides Karnataka, would be held on May 24 and 25.

Club President Ram Sanjeev Reddy told newsmen that the semifinal and final matches would be held in newly layed Synthetic court.

He said that for the first time ITF certified Referee Joy Mukherjee from Kolkata would conduct the tournament.

The AITA has nominated Sunil Yajaman as the AITA Supervisor to ensure the tournament was conducted as per the rules.
