One held for carrying fake currency of Rs 13,000
New Delhi, May 24 (UNI) In yet another swoop against fake currency suppliers in the capital, police caught a 20-year-old youth from Gandhi Nagar in east Delhi and seized counterfeit notes of Rs 13,000.
Following a tip-off, Malda-resident Ajibul was arrested yesterday from Kailash Nagar where he had come to strike a 'deal', police said today.
Fake Indian currency amounting to Rs 13,000, in the denomination of Rs 500, was seized from his possession.
Investigations revealed that Ajibul was a Class VI dropout and had been engaged in a stitching job for the last 4-5 years in Gandhi Nagar.
He hailed from village Jagdishpur in West Bengal's Malda district.
