Noted equestrian Rathore dead
Indore, May 24 (UNI) Noted equestrian and former Director General of Madhya Pradesh Police K S Rathore died at a private hospital here yesterday following a brief illness.
He was 73.
He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
His body has been taken to his native place Sitamau in Mandsaur district for funeral today.
An IPS officer of 1959 batch, Rathore became DGP in 1992.
A member of the erstwhile princely family of Sitamau, Rathore was a prominent equestrian and had won over 50 gold, 30 bronze and 25 silver medals in different events. He was also a member of the Asiad team in 1974 and 1986.
