Nitish Katara case: Sting CD shown in trial court
New Delhi, May 24 (UNI) The sting operation CD of witness Ajay Katara in the Nitish Katara murder case was shown before the trial court today.
On May 12, counsel for Vikas Yadav, the son of former MP D P Yadav, moved an application under section 311 of the CrPC before Additional Sessions Judge Ravinder Kaur pleading for summoning witnesses, including a press reporter, to ascertain contents of the CD for arriving at a just decision in the case.
Ajay today filed an affidavit that the voice in the CD was his own but he stood by his previous statement given before the court on May 31, 2003 and July 27, 2007.
According to Ajay, he was interested to get into property dealing business which made made him go to Subash Yadav's office, where Yadav offered him a drink and might have laced it so that he could be trapped.
However, a conversation in the CD, he claimed was about his son.
Ajay contended that D P Yadav threatened to kill his son.
The court adjourned the matter for a further hearing on May 26.
