Govt adopting right way to include some castes in SC : Mayawati

Lucknow, May 24 (UNI) Blaming the previous Samajwadi Party government for misleading the downtrodden by falsely announcing inclusion of 16 communities in the Scheduled Caste (SC) category, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today said her government had followed the right procedure in this regard by sending the proposal to the Centre.

'' Mulayam Singh Yadav-led government had played to the galleries by including these castes into SC on its own while it was struck down by court being violative of the constitutional provisions,''she told a press conference here.

Ms Mayawati said her government had followed the appropriate process in this regard and sent the proposal in the right manner to the Centre as well as taking care of the legal aspects.

The previous government had done it in a hurry fully realising that their procedure was not the right manner today. ''Rhe SP government had mislead the members of these castes,''she charged.
