Elections to 57 Panchayats postponed, 3 ROs removed
Chandigarh, May 24 (UNI) Punjab Election Commission today postponed the elections to fifty-seven Gram Panchayats in twelve districts, which were scheduled to be held on May 26, and removed three election officers for irregularities in duty.
Disclosing this here today, a spokesman of the State Election Commission said the polls to fifty-seven Gram Panchayats had been postponed and fresh election schedule would be announce soon.
He said the commission had also removed Returning Officers Jarnail Singh and Mujnhial Singh of Gurdaspur district and RO Gurbax Singh Khadoor Sahib Group-IV.
