Edible oils, groundnut

Mumbai, May 24 (UNI) Edible oil prices today touched a new high for this year with groundnut raw oil zooming to Rs 710 per ten kgs and palmolein oil to Rs 574 per ten kgs in view of firm advice from producing centres, mainly Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and some northern regions.

In seeds, groundnut and castorseed prices also gained by Rs 50 and Rs 10 per quintal respectively on heavy demand from millers, induced by bullish advice from Rajkot and other centres.

In oils, groundnut raw, sesame expeller, palmolein and sunflower expeller refined also rose by Rs ten each and was quoted at a new high this year at Rs 710 for groundnut raw, Rs 670 for sesame expeller, palmolein at Rs 574 and for sunflower refined at Rs 715 on sustained good demand from bulk consumers and retailers. Sellers were hoarding their stocks in view of lesser stock arrivals from producing centres.

Similarly. cottonseed refined, rice brand and soyabean refined oils were also in limelight on good bulk consumers and industrial users demand, traders of the Bombay Commodity Exchange said here today.
